Healthy, Easy Salad Dressing

Much like life itself, when it comes to making a good salad, you really only get out what you put in! In other words, making a salad taste good takes some effort, but it doesn’t have to be hard work and you don’t need to spend money on expensive dressings. There are so many salad dressings to choose from out there, but a lot of store-bought brands contain too much sugar or nasty preservatives. Homemade is always best — and salad dressings are so easy to make. Take the recipe below, for example. It’s super easy, mega cheap and it is made from items that are probably already in your kitchen cupboard. Even better, one of the main ingredients is apple cider vinegar, which has been known to improve digestion, balance blood sugar levels and help with weight-loss.

¼ cup olive oil

1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar

2 tsp mustard

½ tsp Himalayan salt

1 tsp rice malt syrup (optional)



“We love to make our own dressings because they take next to no time and they make salads taste so good! You can even use this recipe as a marinade for chicken or tofu!”



In a small jug, whisk the olive oil and vinegar with a fork until combined.

Add the rest of the ingredients and continue to whisk until combined. TIP: Because it contains no unnatural ‘combing’ agents, the dressing will separate on standing — just give it a good shake or a stir before you use it.

Place the mixture into a small jar with a tight lid (you’ll need to shake it when you want to use it!) and keep in the fridge for up to 10 days.
